COGNITIVE AND LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT LAB
At the Cognitive and Language Development Lab, we investigate how infants and children interpret the world around them. We do not make individual assessments. Rather, we are interested in how infants and children, in general, think about the world.
Our studies explore how young children (currently, 2 to 6 years old) develop spatial language (e.g., the picture is hanging on the wall) and how non-linguistic representations of space support this development. We also examine how language input from adults (e.g., parents) may also influence children’s language development.
We conduct studies both in person at our lab located at Montclair State University, and online via Zoom!
